Two years ago, Hurricane Ida caused mass damage and flooding in the City of Lambertville. Since then the riverside city has rebuilt. But the lessons learned from this dark time still carry on.

The meeting will include discussion on where the city has been and where it is going in the wake of Ida.

It’s been two years since Hurricane Ida devastated parts of the City of Lambertville. Since then, the riverside city has remained proactive on ways to tackle flooding concerns.

Lambertville Awarded Grant To Renovate Holcombe Park

The grant is a big win for the city’s environmental initiatives and efforts.

It’s a new day for the City of Lambertville’s Holcombe Park.

Lambertville was recently awarded a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to spruce up Holcombe Park. The grant is from the Delaware Watershed Fund and is worth $308,000, per Lambertville’s official website.

The work funded by the grant will restore about 2.46 acres in the park.

New Hope Using Firm To Hire Police Chief Replacement

In addition to the police chief search, the borough council saw the hiring of two additional officers.

When New Hope Borough hired Chief Michael Cummings to become their Chief of Police 15 years ago, they used a firm named Safe City Solutions to find him.

New Hope Council Appoints New Member

There’s a new member of council in New Hope.

New Hope Borough Council voted Tuesday evening unanimously to appoint Kelly Whitman to the governing body.

Whitman’s appointment to council comes a month after Council Vice President Laurie McHugh’s tragic and sudden passing in an automobile accident.

The meeting began with a moment of silence for McHugh, who proudly served the New Hope Borough community for eight years and was a champion and fighter for local businesses.

Lambertville Presents Life-Saving Recognition Awards To Three Officers

The City of Lambertville Police Department received some well-deserved praise at this month’s city council meeting.

At the August 17 meeting, Mayor Andrew Nowick and police Lt. Robert Brown honored three Lambertville police officers with life-saving recognition awards for actions carried out in the line of duty.

The police officers honored were Patrolman Kevin Bereheiko, Parking Enforcement Officer Michael Vecchio and Sgt. Michael Gramlich.

New Hope Remembers Council Vice President, Businesswoman Laurie McHugh

The New Hope Borough councilwoman is being remembered for her service.

The community continues to remember New Hope Borough Council Vice President Laurie McHugh.

McHugh, 58, died following a crash last Monday between her Audi and a large tractor-trailer along Durham Rd (Route 413) near Upper Mountain Road in nearby Buckingham Township.

McHugh was born in Philadelphia and raised in Upper Southampton Township. She had an adopted daughter, Aya, and several siblings.

Lambertville City Council Approves Stormwater Management Ordinance - New Hope Free Press

During Thursday evening’s council meeting, the City of Lambertville Council approved a wave of ordinances. Perhaps the most important one approved was the stormwater management ordinance.

Lenape Park Reopens & Bench Dedicated To Former Public Works Director - New Hope Free Press

New Hope Borough will be getting a new fireworks show this summer thanks to the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce.

Strand Theatre Sold Amid Tense Legal Battle - New Hope Free Press

The owner who planned to turn around the closed Strand Theatre has sold the building.

Kelly Sullivan, a local artist, bought the old Strand Theatre on Coryell Street in the City of Lambertville with the intention of turning it into Strand Arts, a multi-use art house.
